How do I have all this energy...
Friday....
So, for the last week since starting P90X, I've been spoinging out of bed between 5am-6am each morning. Boyfriend hardly recognizes me in the morning. By the time I bring him coffee, I've unloaded dishes, made lunches, taken out the dog, fed animals, done laundry...I'm like a whole different person, dragging him out of bed to do P90X. Of course, this is ONLY week ONE. And it could also have something to do with the fact that I've been going to bed at like 9:30 and staying asleep the whole night, thanks to my dedicated use of Melatonin. Sleep has always been a problem for me, but this week I'm getting up so early, zooming around, working out, working all day, zooming around when I get home...I'm just tired and ready to sleep when it's sleepy time. This morning I felt lazy because it's the off day (i may do Stretch X later when I get home), so I didn't get out of bed til 6am. I took the dog out, fed her, made the kids lunches, made Brian and I lunches, made breakfast for all three minions, brian and I, unloaded dishes, reloaded dishes, cleaned the entire kitchen, showered, got dressed, cleaned litter boxes, chased Morpheus around (that's a whole different story), then shoveled and salted my entire driveway before finally getting to work at like 9:30am. That may not sound like a lot to many of you, but for me that like the most productive morning I've ever had.
Anyway, this day has been way longer than I would like it to be and I still have a cat butt to go home and shave. Right, that's a whole other story...
Monday...
Week 2 has begun. I'm feeling ok. Fell off the eating right wagon this weekend and felt it during the workouts. Stayed up WAY too late last night and I'm feeling that this afternoon. I'm ready for bedtime for sure. Tomorrow is Yoga, which is my least favorite, mostly because I fall over a lot. A LOT. Right now, i'm ready for a nap!
Love and Stuff,
Jenn

P90X...
In the Beginning:
I'm going to record my stats prior to beginning P90X, at 30 days, 60, 90 (assuming I make it...)
Resting Heart Rate: 60
Weight: 138
Waist: 32
Hips: 38
Chest: 33
Right Arm: 11
Left Arm: 11 (at least I'm symmetrical...)
Right Thigh: 20.5
Left Thigh: 20.5
Body Fat: 25.5
P90X Day 1: Chest & Back, Ab Ripper DONE
P90X Day 2: Plyometrics DONE
P90X Day 3: Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper DONE
P90X Day 4: Yoga X (Or as I like to refer to it, Jenn Falls Over A LOT X) DONE
P90X Day 5: Legs & Back DONE
P90X Day 6: Kempo X DONE
We started P90X on Saturday. So far, so good. I'm sore and I feel like I'm starving all the time, but it's SOOOOO much better than the first time I tried to do it. That was two years ago. I had just quit smoking (after 17 years) and was basically in crap shape. I only got through about a month of P90X that time. And it took like 2 months to do it. And every day was misery. I was not ready. This time, it's tough, like it's supposed to be, but afterward, I don't spend the entire day wishing my muscles could be removed from my skeleton. There is also a great 90X app for iPhone (which I use on my iPad) which I use to track everything and it makes little charts and stuff. I have to be patient, because I don't think I'll really lose any weight this first few weeks, because hopefully it's turning to muscles. And i have to work harder to stick to the nutrition plan. The extra bites here and there throughout the day are probably counter-productive. I'm just sooooo hungry!
The first phase only allows me one "carb" a day. Though, in all fairness, they only count things like bread and rice as carbs, not fruits and veggies or the protein bar and such. Still, Phase 1 is mostly protein and water. Mmmmmm...nothing fills me up like protein and water....
I'm trying to remember to take my vitamins each day. I actually just choked them down. They are these huge horse pill vitamins. And they taste funny. But, vitamins are key, and I do love when I pee in fluorescent colors.
Fun with Heart Rate Monitors...
I've been wearing my heart rate monitor for all my P90X workouts. The P90X documentation says that the average amount of calories burned per workout is like 600. Since that is not nearly the case for me, I can only assume that they are basing that number on a 300 lb person doing P90X. I can only hope that because I do the workout in the morning, I am burning extra calories during the day to get to that 600.
I am also curious about how many calories I actually burn in a day and my heart rate changes, so I've been wearing my heart rate monitor all day and will upload the results tonight to see. Good thing my watch has like an 8 hour battery life. Though, I'm not sure if it can charge and track at the same time, so I may just be able to track 8 hours of my life. I'm sure i've burned all of 12 calories sitting at my desk all day. Still it's fun.
I am Filled with Imaginary Roid Rage...
I'm very cranky. I don't know if it's the lack of carbs in my life, the fact that I really want chocolate or if doing P90X has me so juiced that I'm suffering from imaginary roid rage. DON'T MESS WITH ME OR I'LL ATTEMPT TO PICK YOU UP AND THROW YOU ONLY I'LL FAIL CAUSE I'M NOT THAT STRONG YET AND THEN I'LL BE EVEN MORE ANNOYED!
Just saying...
